How Much Wood Is In A Cord?

Many Missourians enjoy the tradition of a crackling, wood fire.  The smell, romantic glow and warmth of a real wood fire is a perfect way to enjoy the cool fall temperatures and crisp evenings.  If you’re planning on purchasing firewood soon, we want you to know how much wood is in a cord.  A full cord of firewood, split or unsplit, should measure approximately 4’ deep by 4’ high by 8’ long.  Make sure you take some quick measurements and let the company delivering your wood know you know your stuff.  Don’t get shortchanged or burned by a less than honest firewood company.
